Mortgage Protection – Decreasing Cover

  • Cover reduces over time in line with your mortgage balance
  • Designed to pay off repayment mortgages or long-term loans
  • Usually lower-cost than level cover
  • Premiums remain consistent throughout the term

Optional Features

  • Critical illness cover (additional premium)
  • Terminal illness benefit included as standard
  • Family income benefit to provide regular payments instead of lump sum

Funds can be used to:

  • Maintain living standards for your family
  • Pay off debts or mortgages
  • Cover funeral costs or leave a financial legacy
  • Not a savings or investment plan – only pays on a successful claim
  • Suicide or intentional self-harm excluded in the first 12 months
  • Cover ends if premiums are missed or policy is cancelled
  • Optional add-ons like critical illness may have exclusions

Applicants must be aged 18–77 and living in the UK. Most applications do not require a medical exam, but if one is needed, Aviva covers the cost.
